Therapy for life transitions in New York

Some of the hardest seasons aren't crises. A move, a breakup, a marriage, a career change, a decision about whether or when to have children. Figuring out what comes next as an adult can be disorienting, especially when everyone around you seems to have a map.

If you're in the middle of something you didn't choose or can't quite name yet, that's enough to start.

Change can be wanted and still be hard

Even a transition you chose can bring grief for what you're leaving behind, worry about what comes next, or a sense that you've lost your footing. Many people come to me feeling like they should be handling it better. Adjusting takes time, and it's easier with support.

How we work together

We'll look at what's shifting, what it's stirring up, and what you want this next chapter to hold. With ACT, the focus isn't on feeling ready first. It's on making room for uncertainty and taking steps that fit what matters to you, even before everything is clear. Sometimes, if it helps, we write.

Coming back to today

During a big change, it's easy to future-trip: to live three steps ahead, rehearsing every way things could go wrong. A lot of our work is bringing your attention back to what's in front of you today, and breaking what comes next into steps that feel manageable, one week at a time.

Getting started

Sessions are 55 minutes over secure video, for adults anywhere in New York State. I accept insurance through Headway, including Aetna, Anthem, Carelon, Cigna, and Curative, and offer self-pay sessions at $180 with a limited number of sliding-scale spots.

The first step is a free 15-minute call to talk about what's bringing you in and whether we're a good fit.
