Therapy in New York for anxiety, depression, and the seasons of life that change everything

I work with adults across New York State through secure video sessions. Most people come to me in the middle of something: worry or a low mood that won't lift, a new baby, a medical diagnosis, or a relationship or career that's shifting.

Anxiety & Depression

Anxiety and depression rarely show up on their own. They arrive alongside a demanding job, a relationship that's changing, a body that feels different, or a future that feels unclear. You might be functioning well on the outside and running on empty underneath. Or just getting through the day might feel like a lot.

Together, we'll look at what's driving the worry or low mood and build practical ways to respond, using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), so it takes up less room in your life.

Maternal Mental Health

Becoming a mother changes your body, your sense of self, your relationships, and your understanding of who you are. Matrescence, the psychological and relational process of becoming a mother, is one of the most significant shifts a person moves through, and one that often happens without much room to process it.

I work with people from pregnancy through the early years of parenthood, including postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, intrusive thoughts, a birth that didn't go as planned, and the quieter feeling of not recognizing yourself. I also work with partners going through it alongside them.

Illness, Caregiving & Grief

Whether you're living with a medical diagnosis, caring for someone you love, or grieving, the psychological weight of illness is real and often invisible to the people around you. I work with people facing chronic illness, transplant, cancer, or recovery from a hospital stay, with those caring for a loved one, and with people who are grieving.

I bring experience in transplant, intensive care, and acute rehabilitation to this work, and an understanding of what it means to be inside the medical world, not just observing it.

Life Transitions

Some of the hardest seasons aren't crises. A move, a breakup, a marriage, a career change, a decision about whether or when to have children. Figuring out what comes next as an adult can be disorienting, especially when everyone around you seems to have a map.

If you're in the middle of something you didn't choose or can't quite name yet, that's enough to start.

Also offered: therapeutic writing and journaling

If it appeals to you, we can bring short writing exercises or journaling prompts into our work, in session or between appointments. Some things are easier to write than to say. It's always optional and whatever you put on the page is enough.
